We both know that the Internet has become the #1 source for information in the U.S., and for most people, it begins with a “search.”

You and I also know that the single most effective and efficient thing we can do to drive traffic to our sites is undertake a variety of efforts, both on a website and more importantly off of the site, to make sure the search engines rank that website high within their search results.

This is called Search Engine Optimization (SEO - onsite) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM - offsite) and the following plan outlines ways to effect your website to maximize the organic traffic it receives.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via "natural" ("organic") search results for targeted keywords.
SEO considers how search engines work and what people search for, creating credibility for a site within search engines and improving a site’s ranking. Doing this properly requires that many factors, both on a site off-site be considered and accounted for properly.

Pretty straightforward so far right?

There are some basic elements that must be in place on a website.  The code behind the scenes and the overall architecture of a site must be conceived and executed properly, but beyond that,  search engines now place the most emphasis on links pointing in to a site from other websites.  The “quality” and relevance of those sites is very important and is judged by the Search Engines on a number of levels.  

When we work together you are leveraging the fact that I know many of those factors (the SE's don't share them very openly so we must test, track and research in order to figure out as much as possible).  It's my job to ascertain what the Search Engines want... and to deliver for you based upon that knowledge.

It is my job to get you links that most folks don't even begin to know how to find let alone secure for you.

OK, so I promised not to make this a sales letter but I felt it prudent for you to know a little about me and the sort of companies with which I work before we got any further.

Now, here's the next thing I read:

"For sites that make their initial appearance on Google's second and third results pages, the number of unique visitors increases 517 percent in the first month and 942 percent the next (compared to the month before the site first appeared on either the second or third page.)

That's almost ten times the amount of traffic that was previously hitting that site.

In short, the higher up in the search results a site shows, the more free traffic is received over time... dramatically more.

That one makes sense :-)

So how do we make that happen?  By affecting a variety of things both on-sight and off-sight.  Here's a brief sampling of considerations:

Employment of a proprietary mix of analytics tools to determine the optimal keywords to be used. The most important element in building a good keyword list is to create the right mix of relevant terms that receive as high a volume of searches as possible, while also having the lowest number of competing pages with similar content.

Develop Target Keyword List and Site Description

  1. Identify top ten target keywords that have the optimal mix of maximum search demand relative to the least amount of results competition
  2. Craft website description utilizing top 3-4 target keywords.  This description will become the anchor for many website submissions for the website across the Internet

Establish an SEO Baseline

We run analysis on your site relative to the selected keywords and even analyze how you stack up against your primary competitors for those same keywords. 

We do this for a number of reasons:

If you don't know where you stand at present it is hard to create a vision of where youy want to go.

Opportunities often become very apparent when good competitive intelligence is performed.  If you've got competitors doing a good job of putting themselves where you want to be, let's determine how they've done it and leverage that intelligence to carry uour site beyond their results

I already mentioned that certain elements do need to be in place on your site in order for us to maximize the benefits any work offsite can accomplish.  In short... if what is happening ON your site isn't right it's going to make the job of all we do offsite less effective if not downright difficult.

At the least we need to have all meta tags properly in place, excessive coding that may preclude the Search Engines from properly spidering a site revised, and a clear navigation scheme in place.

We take the approved data generated in the first strategy and apply it to your current site so all of the basic coding the Search Engines look for are in place.

Build Targeted Links Back to Site

1) Crafting of keyword optimized articles based on top 10 keyword phrases selected.  Each of these articles will be based upon a single keyword/phrase, employing the optimum keyword density within the article for the target keyword.

2) Dissemination of articles to top rated article directory sites on the Internet, each linking back to the parent site. 

Articles in these directories are seen as important content by Search Engines and in turn, so are the sites to which they link.  Some traffic will be sent to the site directly from the articles.  Publishers of other websites will pick up the articles and republish them with all links intact.

     

3) Directory Submissions of site to top website directories.

The listings and anchor text links used in these submissions are based upon the target keywords determined previously.  These directories, or aggregated listings of websites by category, are highly regarded by the Search Engines and pass a healthy amount of Search Engine food to your site.

4) Securing of high PR, one-way links from sites the Search Engines view as extremely reputable (such as university .edu websites) and links from topically relevant, high PR pages (we're talking PR6 to PR9 sites).  This tactic alone can push a site up onto the first page of Search Engine results.

5) Development of Social Media "mini-net" of sites.  This is a specially designed cross linking series of social media based sites, populated with topically relevant content.  These are all sites highly regarded and frequently spidered by the Search Engines.  This is a powerful tactic that helps build valuable links to your site in short order.

     

6) Development and posting to a unique blog populated with unique, topically relevant content.  All posts are bookmarked via a wide variety of social bookmarking sites.

7) Promotion of all RSS feeds  - All of the sites we create in a number of the steps above as well as many of the assets we distribute to various places across the Internet have an RSS feed.  There are two different ways to leverage these feeds:

Submission to feed directories which helps the Search Engines find and spider your content (and count those links we've built).

Submission to feed Aggregators where your content gets aggregated (read as: republished) creating live traffic to your site as well as Search Engine food.  The Search Engines love these aggregator sites as they are filled with constantly, topically targeted, user-generated content.

    

 

We continue building on SEO efforts on a monthly basis, strengthening the hold on the established ranking while continuing to move the site up the list of results.  These efforts are essential to leverage the initial SEO backbone we established in the first three strategies.

This is done in a very carefully designed, randomized fashion so all efforts are perceived as natural development in the eyes of the Search Engines.  Too much, too fast and it becomes readily apparent that efforts are underway to manipulate a site's standing in the Search Engine Results.
